Perkasie Patchwork Coffeehouse is thrilled to welcome Rolly Brown and Magpie to the October coffeehouse on Saturday, October 11, 2025. Address: 320 W Chestnut St., Perkasie, Pa.
Rolly Brown is a lifelong student of the guitar. He has been a National Fingerpicking Champion (1980), a Philadelphia Music Award nominee, a solo performer, sideman, and teacher. Folk, blues, ragtime, bluegrass, country, & jazz have each, over the past 61 years, been his passions. Acoustic Guitar Magazine calls Rolly’s guitar sound “an exceptionally melodic, articulate playing style that takes full advantage of the acoustic guitar’s beautiful tone.” Wise sage Bennett Hammond says, “He’s the real deal, the gen-you-wine article, the guitar picker’s guitar picker.” Blues master Andy Cohen (who IS prone to hyperbole) told Rolly, “Dammit, you are the best that ever was. You may quote me.” Rolly has been a favorite instructor at dozens of guitar camps around the U.S. and Canada over the past 25 years, and has released 6 CD’s on his Aussie Dog label. The renowned Stefan Grossman’s Guitar Workshop has released fifteen of Rolly’s instructional DVDs as well as various downloadable lessons.
In recent years, he has focused on songwriting. He is also an acupuncturist and T’ai Chi Ch’uan instructor, and a dog lover.
Magpie – Since 1973, Terry Leonino and Greg Artzner, have brought their unique sound and remarkable versatility to audiences everywhere, featuring traditional and vintage Americana to contemporary and stirring original compositions.
With two strong voices in harmony and superb instrumental arrangements, their sound is powerful and moving. Award-winning recording artists, singers, songwriters, musical historians, playwrights, actors and social activists, Terry and Greg are proud to be, as Pete Seeger said of them, “…more links in the chain”, dedicating their lives and music to leaving this world a better place.
Terry & Greg’s friendship and collaboration with Rolly goes back decades, including numerous recordings together.
October concert flyer coming soon.
