Join us on May 10 at Patchwork for an OLD-TIME JAM and Concert with three great local groups… TOM & BETTY DRUCKENMILLER, THE DULCIMER BOYS, and FULL CIRCLE.
The Old-Time Acoustic Jam starts at 5pm and is open to players and listeners alike. The foundation of Old-Time traditional music is fiddle dance tunes accompanied by clawhammer banjo, guitar, dulcimer, mandolin, bass, and a few other acoustic instruments.
The concert begins at 7:30. Admission is a free-will donation to support Perkasie Patchwork Coffeehouse and our musicians.
OUR PERFORMERS:
Tom and Betty Druckenmiller play old-time music – the dance tunes, fiddle music and parlor songs that people used to entertain themselves and their neighbors before the time of recorded music or radio.
Tom has been a musician for nearly all of his life. As a guitar player, he played in a number of Lehigh Valley bands, but around 40 years ago he discovered old-time music and the clawhammer style of banjo playing he’s known for today. Betty began playing fiddle as a direct result of hearing J.P. Fraley play “Margaret’s Waltz” on the Augusta stage one summer evening. Betty has especially enjoyed learning unusual older tunes and those with great stories, which may or may not be true. She enjoys playing for farmers’ markets and dances, as well as singing songs with great harmonies.
The Dulcimer Boys are Norm Williams (vocals, mountain dulcimer, banjo, guitar, and ukulele), Cliff Cole (hammered dulcimer, guitar, and percussion), and Rob Yoder (vocals, guitar, banjo, concertina, mountain dulcimer, and bodhrán). Norm, a member of the Old-Time and Gospel group, Wayfarers & Company, joins two members of the traditional music group DayBreak to form this harmonious offshoot. Norm can often be found performing with the Druckenmillers.
These long-time musician friends have come together to perform folk music inspired by American Old-Time and Celtic traditions. The combination of mountain dulcimer, hammered dulcimer, banjo, and guitar especially lend themselves to the music of late 19th Century America. The mountain dulcimer, especially, is an instrument developed by European immigrants to the Appalachian region.
Full Circle is an old-time music and contra dance band. The members are Jansen Wendell on fiddle and mandolin, Cliff Cole on hammered dulcimer, and Andy Finkel on rhythm guitar. They formed the band in 2020 when Andy and Cliff, both employees of Rajant Corporation, needed an old-time fiddle player and realized they had a common friend in Jansen, who each has known for over 30 years. Jansen completed the full circle. The band specializes in old-time music and contra dance tunes. Their repertoire includes original tunes along with traditional covers. Over the years, they have performed in UNICEF benefit concerts and other events sponsored by Rajant, and played in weddings and contra dances.

A portion of our proceeds for the May 2025 concerts will go to Mennonite Disaster Service flood relief in North Carolina. You can also drop off donations of non-perishable food at all our concerts for Pennridge FISH (Fellowship in Serving Humanity), our local non-profit food pantry and clothing outlet here in Perkasie.
The Perkasie Patchwork Coffeehouse is a ministry of the Perkasie Mennonite Church. The coffeehouse is warm and cozy, with lots of atmosphere. It is a place where people can enjoy fellowship and see some of the best performers available up close and personal, in an intimate setting. Perkasie Patchwork Coffeehouse is located in the church fellowship hall, which is air conditioned and handicap accessible.
